Virat Kohli is one of the greatest batsmen in cricket history. He has led India to victory in some of their biggest matches and spearheaded some of the game’s most remarkable run-chases, while also inspiring young Indian cricketers with his dominance on the pitch and earning him the nickname

IPL Career

‘The King’. Kohli currently captains Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise of Indian Premier League (IPL). Since 2008 he has played with this cash-rich tournament.

Kohli was born and raised in Delhi’s Uttam Nagar area; his parents Prem and Saroj worked as criminal lawyers; his mother Saroj worked as a homemaker. Kohli attended Vishal Bharti Public School and Saviour Convent before leaving to pursue cricket full time for India – something which eventually took over his studies altogether. West Delhi Cricket Academy provided him with his training; on 18 February 2006 in a Ranji Trophy match against Services (done without batsmen for that match, however). West Delhi won that game while making their List A debut against Services on 18 February 2006 against Services without seeing anyone bat in that innings before making their List A debut vs Services.

His ODI debut came the following year and quickly established himself as an in-demand player within limited-overs cricket. He quickly become one of India’s premier limited-overs players by dominating attacks and scoring big runs, earning himself selection in their side for the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy final against South Africa and leading them to victory. His big-match temperament was evident by scoring an effortless century against them that secured victory and secured India victory!

Fate smiled upon Kohli when he received the Test cap in July 2011 for an Australia tour. Although initially struggling on the bouncy Australian pitches, soon he adjusted his stance and eventually began dominating contests – becoming popular with both fans and being honored with Man of the Match awards in both Tests he played in Australia. Along with his cricket journey there are rumors of Virat Kohli girlfriend.

Kohli quickly improved in subsequent Tests, scoring centuries with ease and setting several records in the series. He quickly emerged as one of the world’s finest batsmen – being named both ICC Cricketer of the Year 2012 as well as receiving the BCCI award for his contributions to cricket.

Kohli led his team to victory at the 2013 ICC World Cup, then led them again in 2024 – becoming India’s most successful captain ever and amassing six trophies overall as captain of their national cricket team.

Kohli has proven himself an outstanding T20 player, amassing over 5000 runs during T20 tournaments and being named highest scorer for both formats of IPL. As part of Royal Challengers he won four consecutive IPL titles between 2016-17, being honored as IPL MVP both times voted into office by fans and team alike. Now an icon among fans and teammates alike.
