After the break, Aamer Jamal and Salman Agha steadied Pakistan’s innings with a 109-run stand before Carse’s bouncer was dropped by Ollie Pope at square leg; shortly thereafter Leach dismissed Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shahid to end home side’s chances for comeback.

Final words

England secured their first victory of a three-match series by defeating Pakistan by an innings and 152 run margin at Multan Cricket Stadium, after opting to bat. When Ollie Pope fell for nothing during their total of 823-7 on an official flattest wicket ever used for Test cricket, their frontline batters still maintained composure to put themselves in strong position to chase down their target.

As the fourth day progressed, however, signs of wear and turn appeared on the pitch and England’s bowlers took advantage of this by targeting cracks to extract variable movement from Ben Duckett. Woakes, Carse, and Atkinson all bowled efficiently while Ben Duckett came close to scoring his century but ultimately fell short; nonetheless he played an integral part in helping England secure victory.

Oliver Pope was pleased with his side’s performance, particularly the contributions from Harry Brook and Joe Root in the middle. He lauded Brydon Carse, whom he felt brought something new to the team with his pace and movement, as well as Jack Leach for seamlessly returning into their side. However, their batting performance fell below par and Pope was quick to point out this must be learned from going forward; not placing blame solely on themselves in terms of losses as this game involves everyone balancing strengths against weaknesses – in essence everyone plays their own roles within it!
